What People Are Saying

“I cannot recommend Brittany enough! She was my daughter's OT for four years, and, frankly, I credit her for the majority of the amazing progress my daughter has made. My daughter is on the spectrum, has a severe sensory processing disorder and a language processing disorder.  Brittany helped her with just about everything - body awareness, potty training, pencil grip and handwriting, communication and social skills, physical input strategies for calming and focus, help with sleeping, fine and gross motor skills, how to incorporate heavy work at home and school... you name it, Brittany probably helped us with it! Even more notable than the OT help Brittany provided us, she has continued to be in my daughter's life after she left the practice we were going to, and my daughter still talks about her, years later. Brittany uses every available tool to help and she goes above and beyond, in so many ways. She genuinely cares about my daughter and we just absolutely love her.  Brittany is the OT every family wishes they had..”

“Ms. Brittany is awesome. She worked with my daughter for several years. Through Brittany's therapeutic approach, my daughter was able to learn how to process her sensory issues and learn to overcome their impacts on her daily routine. Brittany is confident in her approach and works to understand the child first, then develops a plan; rather than use a one-size fits all approach. I would encourage anyone who has a child who needs occupational therapy to contact Brittany. Your child will benefit from Brittany's teaching style.”

“Brittany Polston has worked with our son (now age 4) for almost two years. She helped him through sensory processing issues, core weakness, fine motor delays, handwriting, and even through picky eating!!!! She is patient, EXTREMELY knowledgeable, professional, and punctual. She is an excellent communicator and is always very responsive with our family. My son always looks forward to seeing her because she always has a new bag of activities/tools/FUN games for them to master together.

Mrs. Brittany is very inclusive and as a parent, I am involved in all aspects of my son's therapy with her and know exactly what skills are being worked on each week. She has most recently gone above and beyond by helping my son transition from the home and into a preschool. She is a "constant" in his life, and we are so SO grateful to have her. I 100% recommend Mrs. Brittany to any family in need of a caring, wonderful pediatric occupational therapist!”

Miss Brittany is fantastic! She worked with my son for 4 years. From age 3-7. She helped him grow by leaps and bounds. He went from being a shy, withdrawn young boy to a Strong Confident young man who loves to do push-ups and challenge his siblings to a game of basketball! He became so much stronger with her guidance. We truly appreciate her as a family. And especially me as a mother. It takes a true gift to work with children, especially those who may face any challenges physically or otherwise. She’s super smart, intuitive, creative and patient. Also during COVID 19 she was able to adjust her plan of treatment to ensure we felt safe and my son still received relevant therapy via FaceTime. I wish we could KEEP HER. But she fixed us!

She is an amazing resource and we are so grateful for her support.”

How Can We Help?

Sensory Integration

Sensory processing disorder and related challenges can have a massive impact on every part of a child’s life. Your therapist can assist in regulation and making new neural connections.

Trauma

Has your child experienced early life trauma? We are Trauma Informed and utilize the Trust Based Relational Intervention model. We have extensive experience working with children in foster and adoptive homes who need specialized strategies to assist with bonding, regulation and independence.

Picky Eating

Does your child struggle with certain textures, flavors, smells? Do they gag when they eat or smell new smells? OT can help increase their range of textures, flavors, as well as chewing/sucking.

Self Care Skills

Many children with developmental or fine motor delays struggle to perform self care without help. They may not wash their hands, brush their teeth, or shower by themselves. Your OT will teach them foundational skills such as sequencing, body awareness and problem solving that impacts routines.

Behavioral Challenges

Does your child have explosive episodes, or is unable to regulate their mood after a meltdown? Let’s improve their self awareness, increase their coping skills BEFORE a meltdown!

Bike Riding

Sometimes it’s not as easy as riding a bike! It requires multiple systems to work together including balance, coordination, fine motor strength, timing, and body awareness. OT can give your child the confidence and freedom that comes with riding a bike in as little as 4 sessions!

Fine Motor Delay

Does your child struggle to write, color, cut, use eating utensils, operate buttons, snaps, zippers? OT will help increase their independence and confidence to try more complex tasks.

Handwriting

Graphomotor challenges can present as difficulty to draw shapes, write letters, copy words, use correct sizing and spacing. It slows a child down in school and lead to low participation. Your therapist can help your child improve their legibility and speed, which in turn affect grades and confidence.
